Soil Humidity Sensor

Description

This moisture sensor is a reliable and easy-to-use device that can detect the water level in soil. It outputs a high signal when the soil lacks water and a low signal when there is sufficient water. You can confidently use this sensor to create an automatic watering system for your garden, eliminating the need for manual watering.

The sensitivity of the sensor can be easily adjusted using the blue digital potentiometer shown in the figure, and its working voltage range is between 3.3V to 5V. The module has two output modes, digital and analog, and a small board PCB size of 3cm x 1.6cm with a fixed bolt-hole for easy installation. The power indicator (red) and digital switch output indicator (green) also provide a quick and easy way to check the device’s status.

The comparator chip used in the module is LM393, which is highly stable and reliable. The soil probe size is 591.519.6. The second small board interface can be used as follows:

1. VCC 3.3V-5V external connection
2. 2 GND External GND
3. DO – Small board digital output interface (0 and 1)
4. AO – Small board analog output interface

Using the device is simple and straightforward. The module is sensitive to environmental humidity and is generally used to detect soil moisture. The DO port outputs a high signal when the soil humidity is below the set threshold and a low signal when it exceeds the threshold. The small board digital output DO can be directly connected to the single-chip microcomputer to detect the high and low signal levels, and the small board analog output can be connected to the AD module to obtain the value of soil humidity.

The delivery list includes a set of finished boards for the soil humidity detection module, including the detection board and soil humidity probe shown in the figure, as well as 20cm DuPont wires for convenient wiring.
